Do more with less work

We are used to working 9–5 no matter how hard we work in that time period our output roughly remains the same with a linear growth trajectory,

This is like a lumberjack cutting wood for 8 hours each day, No matter how hard he works or uses the best tools available he will be cutting down roughly the same amount of wood each day.

However, If there is a person sitting in front of a computer and writing code or preparing a presentation, or coming up with a new product or brand strategy, or writing an advertising campaign if they write the right ad slogan they may have a 100 million dollar of product in their hand if they write a wrong ad slogan they may have a 10 $ product in their hand, or even money-losing product in their hand.

So it is more and more work of being creative and as it goes for being creative you can’t track the inputs you can only check the outputs.

Almost everybody these days who makes a lot of money doing something they are essentially doing some kind of creative work that society does not know how to train people to do or how to replicate.

Creative work by its nature is easily leveraged so it is a force multiplier and it is something that’s very hard to train people how to do.

If I can train you how to do something I don’t have to pay you a lot because I can just replace you anytime I want on the other hand if you’re genius at something you are doing something I don’t know how the heck are you doing it but you are creating new things I have to pay what’s you are worth.

So it all boils down to how do you get actually paid for your curiosity?

To get paid in this society by creating something of value you will need to foster “intellectual curiosity”.

Intellectual curiosity helps you to get into your domain of interest before things get hot and everybody starts getting into it. Returns are gone once everybody gets into the same thing and are at a similar level and these days the market move very very quickly.

If you can figure out something society will want before society itself en masses figure it out that's when you get paid and your only chance to achieve that is if you are intellectually curious, Intellectual curiosity is different for everybody so it can’t be prescribed.

Today we don’t live in a tribe of 150 people we have access to everything so there is no point in intimating anybody else. There is no point in trying to pick up skills from somebody else. What you want to do is figure out what you are uniquely the best in the world that because you just love it and then just find out what or who needs that the most.

Instead of trying to find the mould where you can fit in perfectly as per the society you should be more exploring in finding the place where you fit in the most where you are actually missed.

So find, follow and execute your curiosity by doing the work you love.

And to still achieve faster results in case you are restless, “Work with discipline”.

In the end, Leaving you with an apt description of discipline.

Discipline: “A daily ritual you perform as habits no matter the circumstances around”
